Hand crafted by Mary McCall Timmer in her River Arts District studio in Asheville, North Carolina.
Mary uses pearls in a lot of her pieces--sometimes as an accent, sometimes as a focal point. This pendant is one of her simpler pieces, and just lovely in its marriage of metal and pearl. A spiral of sterling silver sits atop a concave, diamond-shaped "cup" in which rests a soft-white pearl. The cup's texture is called reticulation, and is caused by applying heat to the surface, causing ripples in the metal.
Pendant hangs 7/8 inches from an 18 in. sterling chain.
