Linda Cantrell started quilting as a hobby in 1980. She never dreamed that she would be teaching quilting coast to coast as she does today.
Linda was a painter before she started quilting. She made her first quilt in 1980, and before long she was thinking of pictorial quilts. Appliqué was a natural choice with fabrics and embroidery thread becoming her paints and brushes.
She is self-taught in appliqué and quilting. and her specialty is humors pictorial appliqué. Her award winning quilts have exhibited nationally, including the AQS, IQAS, NQAS, Quilters Heritage Show, Silver Dollar City Quilt Show, Quilt America!, Dollywood Quilt show, Silver Dollar City, Indiana Heritage Show, The David and Peter Mancuso Shows and many other national quilt shows.
She has works in private collections as well as, the Governor’s Western Residence, Duke University, Southern Highlands Craft Guild and Winston Salem and Duke Hospitals. Her work also has been published in many magazines and books.
Creating quilts of her own designs is her specialty with my time spent quilting, teaching quilting or thinking about the next one . |

| Pat Reaches Quilters Nirvana |
| When a quilter reaches nirvana, her quilts all win ribbons. She does not care about calories, housework, and cooking. Fabric grows on trees, needles never need changing and bobbins are always full. In quilters Nirvana Pat has more than two arms, making it easier for her to get more things done. |
