106A West View Ave. Black Mountain, NC
Most of my days include hikes in the forested mountains I call home. I am intrigued by the constant changes I see on the same hikes: plants emerge, bloom and die; they glow in sunset, fade in mist, bend in wind and rain. My most recent obsession is with the colorful and graceful new leaves, especially the Wild Magnolias, Oaks, Maples, Hickories and Bass Wood.
Painting, drawing and etching in the woods give me a lot of time to immerse myself in the beauty and rhythms of the mountain forests and to put problems and worries into a manageable perspective. I hope that my work speaks for itself—that it gives the viewer a reminder of what is beautiful surrounding us. I also hope that it inspires us to conserve and protect our natural environment, not only for ourselves, but for our children and their children throughout time. *All etchings and engravings are limited editions of multiple original hand-pulled work. All work is conservation matted with acid-free mats
