Divining the mysteries, meanings and nuances of color on cloth propel me to create. My inspiration ranges from my recent residency on the west coast of Ireland, rich historic textiles, the patterns on pavement, to the layered hues and textures in my garden. The goal is to express this deep and sometimes unexpected beauty through color and cloth. By manipulating fabric with dyes, shibori, screen-printing, drawing, piecing and most recently with natural dyes, I collaborate with the cloth to create one–of-a-kind contemporary textiles.
