My work celebrates nature in art-to-wear signed prints and colorfield paintings. The iridescent, translucent colors of my designs on silk come alive when worn, bringing dynamic grace and movement to the depictions of dragonflies, leaves and other natural wonders. The prints can also be enjoyed as art for the wall when not being worn. Cyanotype or blueprinting, marbling, screen printing, discharge and handpainting with interference colors are all techniques I use to create designs from nature as seen through eyes of a passionate gardener.
Click on "View Gallery" upper right to see examples of unique wearable art prints, and learn more about the process. Themes include ginkgo, skeletonized grape leaves, sumac and Japanese maples. Other designs inspired by the garden include moonflowers and dragonflies. ferny corydalis, pin oak, lacy sassafras and dogwood. While each print is unique, a similar print can be created for you if the one you choose is sold. Find my botanical scarves at Southern Highland Craft Gallery in Biltmore Village. Visit https://www.facebook.com/enid.adams.90 to see the collection. My marbled scarves can be found at Allanstand Craft Shop, SHCG's HQ on the parkway. Request additional images by e-mail, or call to discuss your custom order.
I have been a professional studio artist since 1981. I also make a line of leaf jewelry fro iridized glass and gemstones. Leaves used in the prints, and much inspiration, come from our organic garden which features many unique daylilies hybrids.
