I have lived all my life in the beautiful mountains surrounding Asheville North Carolina. I was influenced as a very young child by the many wonderful craftsmen and artists of our area and was a frequent visitor to the annual Southern Highland Craft Guild Fair. I grew up with a love and fascination for all of the crafters and artists, but especially those that worked with clay and fibers. Many of my childhood memories are of making things out of scraps of fabric and pieces of clay. My childhood memories, my Scot Irish's heritage and my love for the mountains are often a source of inspiration for my present work.
