William Rogers has been a metalsmith for more than 20 years and is known for repousse and work that combines various metals to create color and texture, using both ferrous and nonferrous metals in a single piece of artwork.
William designs and executes a wide variety of interior metalwork that is multimetal constructions. The work's intimacy is accentuated by the personal interaction of its use as a functional object and because of the high quality of its craftsmanship, transcends generations to become an heirloom.My exterior metalworkis site specific, its design considerations go beyond the usual physical requirements to include the owner's spiritual relationship to the immediate environment. Other influences are the spatial relationship of surrounding trees, hills, plants, creeks as well as the architectural structure itself. The textures, patterens, and rhythm of each of these surrounding elements interact with form in the development of the design. |
