I have been making pottery, with my partner/wife Mary Mikkelsen, since the late '60's, designing a series of stoneware and porcelain pieces for domestic use. Recently our work has taken two paths: Mary has been exploring figurative and/or vessel forms having a formal abstract basis; and I have continued exploring new functional pots in midrange stoneware, with some forays into colored clays, still designed for domestic use.
We have had studios in several locations, over the years: Santa Cruz, CA, Albuquerqe, NM, Charlottesville, VA, and now just north of Asheville in Mars Hill, NC. |
