Handmade House at The Ramble: The Fireplace Surround: Both the architect and the interior designer for this project felt that the fireplace surround needed to be simple, since there were so many strong design elements elsewhere in the room. We chose to develop a muted palette of grays and blues, discovering a glaze surface reminiscent of well-worn beach pebbles. A thin band of mosaic lends a focal point.
