Red Rag Pea Coat: with marbled silk scarf by Laura Sims, $550
About this Gallery: The rag fabric has a universal appeal in our culture: everybody seems to be reminded of some visual memory, the rag rug on Mom’s kitchen floor, or even watching (or helping) Grandma or a neighbor weave with rags. The deep, soft texture comes from running the rag fabric through the washer and dryer, which brings all of those cut edges of the bias strips to the surface.
