About this Gallery:

This Dry Sink is a unique piece for me. It can't actually be considered "fine furniture," nor was it Shaker inspired. It was inspired by a similar piece made by Christopher Schwarz which was in turn inspired by an eighteenth century original. Its rough features include the use of old time cut nails and reclaimed red oak barn wood. It is a large, heavy piece that utilizes boards milled to 7/8." It is made entirely of solid wood, and is finished with a tung oil / linseed oil hand rubbed varnish. It measures approximately: 31"h x 50"w x 22"d. I would enjoy discussing your thoughts regarding a commission for a similar piece made to your specifications. OPTIONS include the use of wormy chestnut or faded red barn wood, adding a drawer, and/or hand-made strap hinges and latches. Kent
