About this Gallery: This series is inspired by the circle or mandala which symbolizes wholeness. Each piece begins with white cotton and silk. Painted and immersed in dyes, the fabric is then cut into pieces and reassembled. Often appliqué and reverse appliqué are used. Many of the hand dyed fabrics are layered with organic drawings. The piece is then stitched, quilted and mounted on silk.
