About this Gallery: Many times I begin with the question: “what if?”. Weaving on my drawloom provides me the opportunity to explore this question. In my series of woven shibori discharge pieces I looked at different ways to employ that technique using the drawloom. What if I discharged certain areas? What if I use the drawloom to create the shibori pattern (using the pattern created by the drawcord)? What if I layer hand dyed areas, woven shibori discharge areas, and patterns created in the woven cloth? I work within the constraints and requirements of the drawloom while at the same allowing for the unexpected to happen.
