warp it! paint it! weave it!
About this Gallery: Warp it! Paint it! Weave it!
Want the beauty of a hand painted warp but don’t have the space or equipment required? In this class we will explore different methods of painting your warp (and perhaps the weft) using fabric paints. This spontaneous method of applying color to yarn can be used in either functional or non-functional pieces. Students will be encouraged to experiment with color, texture, and weave structure.
Some weaving experience is needed for this class.
Weaving as Expression of Nature
Using a nature photograph or postcard as a guide for color and texture, participates will weave a small “tapestry” using a simple frame loom. You will learn how to mix colors and textures using a wide selection of yarns. Further expression through embellishments will be explored. Frame and all supplies included in materials fee.
This class is suitable for weavers and non weavers.
Please contact me if you’d like further information about any of these classes.
