River Stone Necklace - green

Doll Maker

I began making dolls ten years ago while living in Nashville , TN. I continually challenged myself to give the dolls more details…more character. For me, the process of taking a piece of fabric and a lump of clay and turning it into a character that touches the heart is very meditative.

I hope when you look at my dolls, a memory is revived…perhaps a mother, father, grandmother, grandfather or maybe a friend who found a place in your heart.

Growing up in Kentucky , I spent a lot of time with my grandparents, great aunts, uncles and family friends soaking up their stories as well as a way of life that seemed to be fading. Making my dolls is a way of reviving those beloved to me and keeping them near. I hope you enjoy them.
