Quick Overview

For baking and/or serving, this casserole by Jim Cornell is a great addition to any kitchen!

Product Description

Jim Cornell lives and creates in his home and studio in Landrum, South Carolina.  Jim's been a member of our Guild since 1983, and has been delighting us with his artistry, talent, and humor ever since! Jim's techniques involve hand-throwing, slabs/molds, altering, and carving--the latter being the most recognizable feature of his pottery.  Most of his pieces have high-relief carving of some sort--some pictorial, others pure texture.

This large casserole is as functional as it is attractive.  The "bowl" has straight sides, for easy serving and cleaning; the lid is carved and has a nice-sized knob on top.  The outside glaze is a deep, glossy green; the inside has a creamy white glaze. Stoneware is oven*, microwave, and dishwasher safe.

Outer dimensions: 10¼ in. diameter by 7¼ in. tall; inside (bowl) dimensions: 9¼ in. diameter by 4½ in. high.  Holds approximately 3 quarts.

*Do not place cold pottery in a hot oven (over 250 degrees f)--let the casserole come up to temperature with the oven, for best baking results.

Artist statement included.
