This tall, dark brown water pitcher was hand crafted by potter Jim Cornell of Landrum, South Carolina.
The top half of the pitcher is smooth, while the bottom reflects Jim's love of sculpture and carving.
Glazed in tenmoku (which looks almost black, with warm brown highlights on the ridges of the carving) with a creamy-white glaze on the interior of the pitcher. This pitcher would make a lovely centerpiece with fresh-cut flowers, sprigs of decorative branches, or tall grasses.
12 in. high, and 5 3/4 in. at the base.
Artist statement included.
