This is a wonderful device for holding towels, and seems to work like magic! There is a marble between the wood, which creates enough friction to hold a towel in place without letting it slide out. The more you yank down on the towel, the tighter it stays in place. To release it, gently pull it from the side and the towel will slide out freely.
