This one-of-a-kind sculpture was created by Ann Gleason of Tryon, North Carolina. Ann was a functional potter for years and has only recently branched out into more sculptural work. This little song bird, with her head slightly tilted, and worm-in-beak, is a testament to her overflowing talents! Approx. 4 1/2 in. from tail to beak, 2 1/2 in. high, 2 in. at widest point. Unglazed, decorated with a rich black stain, and carved through to reveal the light brown clay body. Artist statement included.
