Jean McGrew has been interested in textiles since her grandmother taught her to embroider when she was a little girl. Her talents in weaving include wall hangings, liturgical textiles, and these boxes! The structure of the box comes from strips of bamboo \"dowels\" Jean weaves in among the yarn. This small box is made of cherry-red yarn and white bamboo. The point of interest is the heart in the center--Jean leaves the bamboo exposed in just the right places to leave a heart shape outlined by the yarn. 3 3/4 in. square, 1 3/4 in. high. Artist statement included.
