Pat and Tom Bauman live and collaborate on their wonderful jewelry in Asheville, North Carolina. They draw a much of their inspiration from the surrounding mountains, and most of their work incorporates what they call their Ridgelines--raised slices of sterling rising up from a sterling base. From the side these look so much like mountain ridges in the distance, from straight-on they give the piece a unique sense of dimensionality.
This asymmetrical pendant has a teardrop-shaped Ridgeline in oxidized sterling which sits atop a sterling crescent that ends in pinky-red garnet.
18 inch sterling chain; pendant hangs 1½ inches from chain.
Artist statement included.
