Hamilton Williams creates functional pottery for every day use. He's also a fine baker and cook himself, and so he seems to understand what works, as well as what looks good. This baking dish is oval in shape, and has 2 handles on either end; the bottom is textured in a fish-scale pattern. My sources tell me that cornbread bakes up perfectly in one of these pans, and pops out easy as, well, cornbread!
Hand-thrown and altered stoneware in his moody blue and red glaze.
Approximately 10" from handle to handle, 8" wide, 2 3/8" high; inner dimensions: 7½" by 6½".
Dishwasher and microwave safe. When baking, let the pottery come up to temperature with the oven--avoid putting pottery in a pre-heated oven.
Artist statement included.
