Maple burl bowl with two holes by Alan Hollar of Newland, North Carolina.
Alan is a master wood-turner, and enjoys the "imperfections" within a piece of wood: burls, knotty bits, spalting, and even the bark. This decorative bowl comes from a large burl of a Maple tree. As if the twisting grains and intriguing jagged edge weren't enough, this bowl has 2 natural holes in the side to add another dimension to its beauty!
