Beautiful, comfortable, handmade clothing made from fabrics that I dye and silkscreen by hand, then cut and sew using original patterns. I also make art quilts from my own hand painted and silkscreened fabrics.
I grew up in Louisville, Ky, in a family of teachers who loved art. We hosted a traveling puppeteer from Berea College when I was 9, and she taught me how to sew. I continued all through high school, making most of my own clothes and experimenting with art quilts. While attending Warren Wilson College, I traveled extensively throughout India and Southern Appalachia, earning a degree in Global Issues. After college, I moved to New Mexico to live with the puppeteer and her husband, who now worked full time as potters. They taught me so much about living a life as an artist. I returned back to North Carolina to study at Penland School of Crafts and to start a business making quilts and clothes. I still live and work in Asheville with my husband and two daughters.
