I love making and playing flutes! I make all of my flutes myself, from start to finish. I use a variety of hand and power tools to produce the best flutes I can. I make flutes one at a time, and each flute is unique.

Asheville
NC

My flute journey began in 1996, when I purchased my first flute from Geri Littlejohn of Woodsong Flutes. I was hooked. I began making flutes in 1997. I have learned to make flutes through experimentation and the tremendous generosity of other flutemakers. I have gradually increased my production from making a few flutes for myself and friends to selling flutes through galleries, at shows, and over the internet.

I make a range of flutes from a high E to a low F#. I work in a variety of woods, and do inlays in stone, shell and wood. I have also developed a drone flute that is particularly comfortable for players with small hands. I am continually working to improve the sound quality of my flutes, and to develop new designs.

I am also a flute player. I have performed at coffeehouses and galleries, as well as the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. I have collaborated on CD's with my friend Glenn Snell and the Carolinas Flute Circle, and have produced one solo CD, Floating World.
