I spend more time in the forest, trail riding the mountains on my horse, than anywhere else.
I find such peace there.
Whenever I'm inspired by forms, and nature's elements, I
let that influence the pieces. The result is jewelry that is
uncomplicated, easy to wear, and organic. Allowing this
malleable metal to be just what it was meant to be! I love
creating pieces that hold a higher purpose of making a
difference. I get excited about the simple elegance of natures intelligent design. From that, ultimately creating something
that someone not only loves to wear, but holds a special
meaning. I hope to inspire others, through my art, to make
a difference with their connection to their own life's
purpose, and the natural world, while transforming the artist, the admirer, and life!

Melanie grew up in the old home of a Scottish immigrant, in McAlpin, a very
small coal town in southern WV. Thru her adulthood, life has taken her on
many adventures, waiting tables, a make-up artist, and manager of a
photography studio, and retail businesses, to working as a veterinary
technician, and everything you could imagine, in between! Constantly striving
to allow her creative nature to come to the fore, she decided over 20 years ago to
strike out on her own, and take that leap of faith, to earn a living by creating,
and it proved to be the best thing she could have ever done. After becoming a
certified PMC artisan in December 2004, Melanie has self taught in many
aspects of PMC & jewelry design / fabrication . Melanie is a full time working
artist, participating in about 20 shows per year, and has taught several
courses at the John C. Campbell Folk Art School,in Brasstown, N.C.
She is a member is the Craft Guild of The Southern Highlands, Tennessee
Craftsmen, and Piedmont Craftsmen. Her jewelry has been seen
in several national jewelry publications, and she has won awards at many
southern art festivals, thru the years. She now lives a very happy, peaceful life
with her 3 cats, a mini donkey , Mr. Frodo, and rides the mountain trails with
her beautiful Friesian-Percheron mare, Freyja.
