My current focus is creating flame-work glass beads using Recycled Antique Mason Jar Glass. The challenge is how to develop interesting beads and finished jewelry designs from a singular color. Adding other glass elements could create instability within the glass when it cools, so there are defined limits. Experimentation with glass density, shape, surface finish and texture, elicit a variety of responses. When the finished pieces are worn, they create a human connection to the energy of the jar history and the personal story of the recipient or gift-giver. There is no greater reward for my work than personal connection.
