I've been knitting since I was 8, but after I developed a fascination with antique textiles I began my quest to learn how those non-knit fabrics were made. That led to learning to weave, which led to learning to spin, which led to learning about sheep and other fiber animals, which led to learning how to process their fibers into something I could spin, which led to learning how to dye those fibers to give me colors possibilities beyond nature, and I'm still learning. Who knows what will come next? It's been a wonderful journey and I hope it never ends
Sewing cards, a child's loom from the toy store, learning to knit at age 8: my love for making things with yarn started at an early age. Much later I learned that I could actually make my own yarn!!! Then the fun really began.
I grew up in Ohio, spent 20+ years in Chicago, and am now living in western NC. I was partly drawn to the area because of its greater appreciation of crafters and their work. I am honored to be a member of this guild, and to share my work with those who value our efforts.
