As a wood turner and sculptor, I strive to enhance the natural beauty and colors of gnarly local woods. The most challenging and rewarding thing I do is to create a feeling of motion in my interpretative sculpted pieces. I hope you will find beauty and harmony in my work.
When I was small, I imagined making beautiful and useful things of wood. So I "borrowed" my dads hand tools and created an often clunky resemblance of that image. This puts me in the self-taught category. In the late "60's, I attended two woodworking classes at JCCFS and continued to imagine and carve and build as a hobby and part-time work.
In today's world, a thirty minute video often covers projects that took months or years to learn.
My current work is turned and sculpted wood, and also "interpretative" wood art.
