We make our living by designing and hand crafting functional stoneware pottery and marketing it at craft fairs and in craft shops throughout the country. Ray works on the potter's wheel and Susan makes hand-built pottery. Pieces are often embellished by subtly altering their shapes and with carving and slip trailing on the surfaces.
We love the feel of clay, its plasticity and how it responds to the touch and strive to maintain the pottery making traditions of the past. In this age of mass production and imported wares, the experience of using hand made pottery in one's daily routine can provide little moments of celebration. The connection between user and maker is instant the moment one lifts a handcrafted mug to his lips or serves a casserole to family and friends in a hand made baker.
While pottery is a craft that presents endless challenges, we constantly strive to make the best work possible. We care about each and every piece we make so that it will bring joy to the person who buys it and uses it every day.
