I combine fabric I weave on my loom, with paper and canvas, as well as paints, dyes and stitching to create my trademark "mixed media textiles". Bold, elegant and contemporary tells the story.
A self-taught weaver, I learned my craft in San Francisco as a young woman. Moving to Asheville, North Carolina in 1990, I raised my family and concentrated on developing as a craftswoman. Showing my work in many galleries, and doing shows, I have developed a large following.
I am a juried member of the prestigious Southern Highland Craft Guild, since 1996. I have served on the Board of Directors of Handmade in America, and the River Arts District Association in Asheville, NC. Because of my strong belief in giving back to my community, I have also served on the Board of Directors of Helpmate (domestic violence agency) and Habitat for Humanity. I currently serve on the Board of Haywood County Arts Council. I enjoy sharing my specialized knowledge with others, and teach at the Penland School of Craft, Arrowmont School, and the Appalachian Center for Craft. My work is in corporate and private collections throughout the world.
