Maker Statement

Our work is a collaboration between two artists — separate people with ideas that merge.

In sharing our lives together, working side by side, we share moments of inspiration, and many common themes appear in our work.

We believe that life is more beautiful and more livable when surrounded by things made by hand. Our work is created for those who search for this quality in fine craft objects. We share this connection with those who own our work.

Bio

Ed and Kate Coleman began their love of clay in Indiana, meeting and dreaming of pursuing a career in art. They both received degrees from Ball State University and quickly moved to Florida to begin their journey in clay. That road eventually led north to North Carolina, and in 2006 they moved to Swannanoa. The love of the mountains and the art and culture of nearby Asheville had an immediate impact on their work. The Colemans currently work in their home based studio and are raising their daughter in a community of crafters, artists, and appreciation.

Ed and Kate Coleman received their fine art degrees from Ball State University in 1998. Their work has been shown in solo exhibitions, museum shows, and feature films. They currently sell their artwork to collectors and galleries across the country.
