Bio
Linda Azar is a jewelry artist and metalsmith living in the mountains of Western North Carolina. She grew up in Saint Petersburg, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a BA in Architecture. While in school, she honed her design skills and fell in love with crafting things with her hands. She experimented with a wide range of materials used for making models: plaster, fiberglass, wood, found objects. But it was in metal where she found her true passion.
She moved to Asheville, NC to continue her career in architecture but quickly realized she had stronger interests elsewhere. She continued to develop her artistic sensibilities through a variety of creative outlets- filmmaking, printmaking, graphic design, painting- until finally, in 2011, she rediscovered her love for metalworking when she enrolled in the Professional Crafts program for Jewelry at Haywood Community College.
Linda was accepted into the Southern Highland Craft Guild in 2014.
