Maker Statement

I remember stories about my great-grandmother piecing quilt tops entirely by hand. I still have some of those quilts, and I’ve been quilting by hand most of my adult life. I always wondered about the fabric itself, so once I’d retired I bought a used floor loom and learned to weave. Long before recycling was part of the common lexicon, I saved small scraps of fabric: first for doll clothes, then for quilting, more recently for rug weaving. Much of my work is geared toward making something out of nothing -- very satisfying!
