Rikki Taylor’s signature sunflower designs require many hundreds of brushstrokes to complete each piece. The result is wonderful, and we love that she puts so much into her art!

Rikki Taylor creates highly decorative and colorful ceramic wares using high-density white ware clay. Each piece is hand-crafted by throwing the individual pot on a potter’s wheel, using a hand building technique, or some combination of both; vibrant underglazes and a high-gloss clear glaze complete the design.
Rikki’s ceramic career began in 1975 while attending college in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She became totally immersed in the process. With the endless creation of ceramic work and advances in the technical and safety aspects of clay, it was only a natural progression for her to move from the subtle earth tones of stoneware to the bright and dynamic colors of underglazes. The wonderful end results are Rikki’s eclectic creations of fun, bright and colorful ceramic art. Notably, Rikki’s work Running Man was purchased and resides in the Smithsonian’s Renwick Museum of American Craft.
Rikki decorates both the inside and the outside of her bowls, so one can enjoy their beauty from any angle; a coated wire around the base allows for hanging on a wall. Dishwasher safe bowl is 12 inches in diameter and 3½ inches high.
