“Since I’ve started professional jewelry I’ve found myself deeply inspired by ancient art and jewelry. For example, the ancient Celts would make Torcs or armband (in some cases necklaces) out of brass, copper, gold, and silver for religious or hierarchy purposes. I’m also inspired by the ancient Egyptians and their gold smiting and beading techniques.
Within the past year I’ve developed a deep desire to learn as much as I can about the ancient Celts and ancient Nords. The Norse pantheon has piqued my interest the most, with their gods and how they dedicated their soul to them via their jewelry and body paint.” – Shannon Swing
