    Beautiful Craftmanship

I use my divider for my sewing items, but I do love just displaying it. The form is lovely and so well constructed. Thank you for such quality products!

    Description

Using the methods of old Shaker craftsmen, artist Jeffrey Neil uses thin wood strips that are made with a cut finger pattern.  Hot water soaking makes this wood pliable, and the wood is bent to an oval shape in a single motion.  Copper tacks in the fingers fix the oval shape.  The top and bottom are secured with wooden pegs.

Divided carriers were used for various purposed throughout the years including bringing herbs in from the gardens as well as carriers for silverware and condiments.
