Fine Silver Granulated Disk Necklace

Granulation is an ancient fusing process utilized for thousands of years by the Etruscans and Mycenaeans as well as other cultures around the globe. Susan creates her tiny granules with fine silver and sort them by size. the she places the granules with a 000 paint brush and then carefully heats the piece using a mouth torch to the point of fusing. Each sphere is connected by a tangent of of metal creating a sleek and beautiful surface.

The pendant is then given a dark patina and the granules a high polish and is then brushed with Renaissance Wax to hold the patina, which will change with wear.
