Large “Penrose” Bowl Fused Glass

Circular shaped fused glass sculpture with silvery gold and radium accents. Dawn Hinesley Jones’ art glass pieces begin with an original design and evolve through composing multiple pieces and layers of glass. Each piece is kiln-fired to 1400-1500 degrees, then either slumped or cold-worked and finished. As hand-crafted work, the pieces may not be perfect, but they are all unique.

Description
The Southern Highland Craft Guild opened its newest member-focused show “Sparkle” on Saturday August 7. On the second level of the Folk Art Center in the Focus Gallery, the work of five Guild Members were on display from August 7 through November 9.
Disciplines represented included metalsmithing, wheel-thrown ceramics, batiking, hand-dyed and sewn apparel, and glass blowing. Members featured were Jason Janow, Erin Janow, Robin Ford, Teresa Hays, and Dawn Hinsley-Jones.
