Description
This original relief print was pulled by hand with a linocut block print. This process begins by carving a linoleum block with an image, then printing by hand by inking the block and burnishing the image onto the paper. This block is printed on luxurious Japanese paper that adds a little texture and picks up some of the stray marks (or “chatter”) left intentionally on the block.
I'm a printmaker and book artist. My work is inspired by nature, memory, and what remains mysterious and alluring in our everyday lives. I'm a classically trained bookbinder and printmaker: my favorite way to make prints is through carving wood or linoleum blocks and combining letterpress and hand-printing methods.
