I moved to Western North Carolina because of the handcraft heritage. That decision has served me well, as I have had an opportunity to experience and learn techniques both historical and significant. I am drawn to use fiber techniques in a nontraditional way. I break them into parts, redesign the parts; then build them back together using my own aesthetic and design motivation. Whether for a functional work or an abstract, I strive for the second glance...the one cast back over the shoulder, calling the view back, as he/she discovers a new and different energy of a piece.
