I have been working with clay for over three decades now. I am as captivated today as I was when I discovered clay for the first time. I am passionate about pots, creativity and teaching the next generation of potters. Form is what drives my creative process. I focus on the beauty of the line and volume of form and strive for surfaces that keep the form the main thing. Making pots for others to love and enjoy has been and continues to be close to my heart as I create.

In recent years I have enjoyed a new direction in my life as a potter. In 2011, My husband, George and I embarked on one of the biggest projects of our lives. We have changed up almost everything. I longer work in solitude in my home based studio. Together we founded a creative community of potters in Asheville, NC, The Village Potters Clay Center. It was such a perfect name because The Village has a life of it’s own. Daily the center is filled with life. We nurture creative exploration through education, experience and community.

We (George really) renovated 7600 square feet of raw warehouse space into a beautiful space including six permanent resident studios, 11 kilns, 4 showrooms. We also have a Teaching Center, where we offer beginning and intermediate classes and our really unique Advanced Ceramics Studies program for emerging potters, sculptors and hand builders. You can find out more at We are a glorious collective of 6 resident ceramic artists/ potters, 1 Director of Operations, 4 apprentices, approximately 50-75 students and 24-28 interns in our program . We are fully committed to each other personally, creatively, and we desire to see each other’s success to the full.

My career in clay has been an amazing journey so far. Now to be able to give back and teach and share feels like the natural next step in my personal journey with clay.

It is my delight to be part of the greater artist community in The River Arts District of Asheville, NC. I remain grateful that I can continue to make pots for people of all walks of life with very different home and work environments.

Thank you collectors, clay lovers, gallery owners, and all who have purchased my work for 30 years now!
